I come from a family of Eagle Scouts. My dad and my older brother were Eagles before I earned mine in 1976. Weeks at Scout Camp were a major highlight of my childhood, particularly when my brother was Waterfront Director. Many family dinner discussions were about Scouting, and I went on more camporees, canoe trips and regular troop campouts than I can remember.
I was also a member of the brotherhood level in the Order of the Arrow, Takachsin Lodge.
Fast forward through 30 years of being a software engineer and my son joined Troop 125. It is my good fortune to have been invited to be an Assistant Scoutmaster and enjoy all of the activities again. It is an honor to help boys lead the troop and participate in their advancement toward Eagle Scout.
