Meetings, Events & Activities

Weekly Meetings

Weekly Meetings

We meet every Tuesday from 7-9 pm at the Santa Rosa Middle School Gymnasium. In the summer months we meet at Steele Lane Community park. Each meeting includes Scout skills, activities and games based on the monthly theme.

Monthly Themes

Monthly Themes

Our monthly themes vary from year to year as each new core of youth leaders plan them. Often themes reflect scout skills like cooking, first aid or cinematography; or focus on preparation for an upcoming event like the annual Camporee.

Campouts

Campouts

Spending time in the great outdoors is imperative to our program. Our active year round camping program brings us all over the state! We try for at least one campout per month.

Day Hikes

Day Hikes

"Because it was there" That's our answer to why we decide to hike stuff! We especially enjoy summit-ing peaks for the Rim of the Bay and Highlander patches.

High Adventure

High Adventure

High adventure is the keystone of the Scouting experience - from the ocean to the mountains - and T.125 does it all! Ropes courses, pioneering, zip lines, rock climbing, repelling, and more!

Summer Camp

Summer Camp

This annual July event is a one week adventure with other troops where Scouts learn skills, earn merit badges, enjoy other camp program areas such as rock climbing, shooting sports, aquatics, nature, and campfire skits!

The Camporee

The Camporee

Once a year all of the Troops in the area compete (by patrol) against one another in a series of events to demonstrate Scout skills and spirit. We are the winningest Troop (both in overall points and spirit) in the entire Council for the past twenty+ years.

25 Miler

25 Miler

This introductory backpacking trek is for second year scouts and above. The Scouts will enjoy a week long outdoor trip without the comforts of car camping, during which, they will focus on basic backcountry skills and the leave no trace method!

50 Miler

50 Miler

The name says it all! The Venture Crew 50 mile, week long hike is a more extensive wilderness outing where the older Scouts will continue to enhance their backpacking skills in the high country. Enjoy epic summit views, pristine lakes, alpine fishing and lots and lots of adventurous miles!

Celebrations

Celebrations

Camporee victories, Thanksgiving dinner, the end of the school year, Holidays, New Years, and the pool party are just a few excuses we have to bring a little extra fun to our weekly meetings!

Food Fights

Food Fights

Arguably the messiest meeting of the year, this food throwing extravaganza is both exciting and tasty. But don't take our word for it, check out this battle for yourself!

Paddle Sports

Paddle Sports

When the sun comes out so do our paddles! Every summer 125 navigates the local waterways with our own supply of canoes and kayaks. Our Venture Crew often take on more challenging white water rafting adventures!

Pillow Fights

Pillow Fights

Summer Fun month exemplifies our dedication to the word "fun!" Each week we take part in an outrageously rad activity culminating with the Scout vs Scout Pillow fight in our custom built arena. Do you have what it takes to win it all or will you splash down!

Water Wars

Water Wars

Our Summer fun month also bodes the wettest and wildest water war. Water balloons and squirt guns are just a few of the artillery you'll have at your disposal. Let the battle begin!

Troop Day

Troop Day

Troop Day is all about sport and obstacle course related activities including Troop wide, patrol and individual competitions.

Destruction Night!

Destruction Night!

Ever wonder what the inside of a computer looks like? Or what a sledge hammer can do to it? Then don't miss this night of technological carnage where choosing your tool is only half the battle!

Broom Ball

Broom Ball

Every other year or so we invite other Troops to the local ice arena for an evening of some good ol' fashioned broom ball. What's broom ball? Basically it's hockey without the puck and skates.

Disaster Night

Disaster Night

Are you prepared for a natural disaster or medical emergency? Let's put your skills to the test and practice like a first responder in these hands on scenarios! Fake blood and injuries make this evening realistically fun!

Blast Car Rally

Blast Car Rally

Let's up your CubScout Pine Wood Derby game T.125 style by giving your ride a boost of C02! Customize your car and blast it across the finish line before the rest!

Family Camp

Family Camp

One campout a year is designated for the whole family to enjoy! Come out and join the Scouting experience with the whole fam!

Sign Off Sundays

Sign Off Sundays

At every meeting and trip there's ample opportunities for advancement, however, the first Sunday of each month the Troop dedicates a day to practice, learn and sign off scout skills, rank requirements, and work on merit badges.

Campout Activities

Campout Activities

Every campout offers a unique but structured environment for camp wide games, competitions, free time, skills and FUN! Maybe it's a rope swing, king of the dock or canoe wars. Maybe it's the Dillon beach games or capture the flag. Regardless, it's sure to end with campfire skits!

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking

Off road bicycling is always an adventure! Wether we rock the local terrain of Annadel State Park or the exciting single track loop of Camp Tamarancho in Fairfax, we are always ready to hit the trail with two wheels!

Boating

Boating

Troop 125 loves the water! Come summer, we pull out our ski boats and enjoy the local lakes with a full range of water sports including skiing, wake and knee boarding, and of course; inner tubing!

Venture Crew

Venture Crew

Our Venture Crew often invites Scouts that are almost of age (or the required rank) to one or more of the Crews activities or outings to see if they are ready to accept the challenge!

Historical Trips

Historical Trips

Part of the Troop 125 experience is practicing citizenship by embracing local history. To do this, we've visited (and sometimes camped) at places like the USS Pampanito, USS Hornet, America's Cup winner USA 76, The Adobe, The Presidio, Angel Island, and Fort Ross to name a few.

Webelos Woods

Webelos Woods

This overnight adventure for local Cub Scout packs (Webelos 1 & 2's) serves as an introduction to Scout outdoor skills and the local Troops. For over 30 years we have participated as Staff giving us an opportunity to teach and inspire the next generation of Scouts!

Troop Movies

Troop Movies

We are all about spirit and skits; so why stop the acting when the campfire ends!? We have several finished and ongoing movies where the Scouts script, plan, dress up, act and edit their own dramatic action films worthy of the red carpet!

The Oscars

The Oscars

Cinematography month doesn't just include "air bands" and skits. Each patrol creates their own short film and receives awards at the Oscars night from our Adult Leader judges. Dress to impress for your patrols premiere, and get ready to laugh!

Peggy Sue Car Show

Peggy Sue Car Show

We volunteer annually at the Car Show as a fundraising event. Landen Saal, one of our proud Eagles, poses with his challenger he worked on himself.
